It’s been an age since I last posted. All of my good intentions melted away in the heat of work/holidays/the new series of Game of Thrones, and I am now woefully behind on both the blog and the challenges. Oops.
Back on track now though and with renewed vigour because I HAVE COMPLETED MY FIRST CHALLENGE! And here’s the photographic evidence to prove it:
It’s been a busy old week. I felt like I’d made LOADS of progress on the challenges but I just looked at the full list again and realised how much there is to get through. Yikes. Still, some progress made…
Horse riding is REALLY painful the day after you’ve done it. And it’s also bloody hard. Kat and I went to Wythenshawe Riding Stables on Saturday for my first equestrian experience. I was queasily sceptical before we arrived but due to my nervousness around horses the people at the stables paired me up with Charlie, a ridiculously placid horse who they usually give to (and I quote) “the kids from the special school” because of his stoic and unflappable nature. Charlie was ace.
I have all 30 challenges! It’s been 3 months of pestering and prodding a bunch of extremely busy people and I am oddly chuffed to have got this far. I’d like to say that the hard part is over but…
- Create a Graphic Novel
I’m really excited about this one. Hannah, my wonderful zoo-lady and best Manchester pal, has set me this challenge. It’s something I don’t know much about, I’ve only ever read a couple of graphic novels in my life and I can’t draw for toffee but I’m excited to delve in, explore a new art form and get creative. And I know a couple of Manchester guys who will definitely point me in the direction of some research material. Ol and Al, I’m looking at you.
